Service · Defined-Scope Build
Fixed price. Fixed timeline. No scope surprises.
After the Clarity Sprint locks the decisions, the Defined-Scope Build ships your product. Same team. Fixed quote. Weekly demos. Full source ownership from day one. The build that follows the decision.
When this is the right engagement
You have a locked scope. The decisions are made. You know what needs to be built and you want a team that will ship it without scope creep, without hourly billing, without a six-month overrun.
You can come in directly with a scope you already locked elsewhere, or you can arrive via the Product Clarity Sprint. Either path, the build runs the same way: fixed quote, fixed timeline, weekly demos, full handoff.
If you do not have a locked scope, start with the Clarity Sprint first. We will not quote a build against a wishlist.
What the engagement looks like
01
Fixed quote, fixed timeline
Price set on day one based on locked scope. Timeline set on day one. Both hold for the duration of the build. No time-and-materials surprises, no overrun conversations.
02
Weekly demos with the team building it
Every week, a working demo with the team that wrote the code. Not a status meeting. Not a slide review. The product running, ready for your feedback and the next week's commitment.
03
Full source and IP ownership
You own everything from day one. Source code in your repository. No retained components, no usage restrictions, no surprises. The product is yours; we built it for you.
Build sizes
Core Build
4-6 weeks
A focused product surface or a tightly-scoped feature. Single primary flow. Most appropriate for SaaS feature work, AI integration into an existing product, or post-MVP fix work.
Multi-Flow Build
6-10 weeks
Multiple distinct flows or stakeholder roles. Most appropriate for marketplace MVPs, healthtech intake-to-visit flows, fintech onboarding-to-transaction surfaces.
Custom Build
10-12 weeks
Larger surface, more integrations, deeper architecture. Quoted on locked scope after the Clarity Sprint. Same fixed-price, fixed-timeline model.
What you get at handoff
Production-ready code in your repository. Deployment runbook. Architecture documentation. Test coverage matched to the deliverable. A 30-day post-handoff window for any clarifications.
If you want structured adoption support after handoff (training, working sessions with real users, change management), that is the Adoption stage of the full engagement. If you want quarterly evolution reviews after that, that is the Evolution stage. Both are separate fixed-price engagements; neither is bundled into the build.
The default is exit. We deliver, hand off, and step away. The product is yours.
Start with the decision pass
Every build at Comet Studio is quoted against locked scope. If you do not have that yet, the Product Clarity Sprint is the cheapest way to get it. Two weeks, fixed price, and you leave with the quote.
